The same mix that sounds great coming out of the main sound system at a venue might not also be adequate for other uses later on. With the abilities of most digital sound boards, I am able to record every channel coming into the sound board and provide a newly mixed down version suitable for standalone tracks, or to sync up with a video recording of the show.
